The Minister of Finance and Economy chairs the Inter-Institutional Group on Trade Policy Coordination and Trade Facilitation.
The chairman of the Inter-Institutional Group is responsible for the functioning of group as a forum for public private partnership with the objective of improving the trade policy process, facilitating trade, and defining the main directions of trade facilitation by making recommendations in these key directions:
- Improving the process of international trade policy;
- Facilitating international trade;
- Legal and regulatory improvements;
- Investments related to international trade and trade facilitation;
- Dissemination of information and human capacity development;
- Support the negotiation objectives with partner countries.
The competencies of the chairman of the Inter-Institutional Group are:
- Chairing the meetings of the Group;
- Calling the Group meetings;
- Approval of the date and time of the next meeting;
- The approval of the meeting agenda, proposed by the Technical Secretariat;
- Following the recommendations of the Group to the Prime Minister, line ministries and parliament, as well as reporting to the Committee on the comments and suggestions made during the meetings/consultations with them.
