On 17 July 2018, the Inter-institutional Group on Trade Policy Co-ordination and Trade Facilitation (National Trade Facilitation Committee) held its fourth meeting, following the governmental reorganization.
Present at this meeting were 21 participants. Invited at this meeting were all the members of this group, determined by the Prime Minister's Order no. 25 date 02/02/2018. Also in this meeting were invited representatives from the business community.
In his speech, the Minister of Finance and Economy, the head of the inter-institutional group for the Coordination of Trade Policy and Trade Facilitation, emphasized the importance of this platform in trade facilitation, cost reduction and fair competition.
He also underlined the fact that the economies of the six Western Balkan countries are committed to creating a regional economic zone (REA in CEFTA), to attract more investments by reducing trade costs and minimizing non-tariff barriers, facilitating trade of goods; the harmonization of CEFTA with the EU, the establishment of a mechanism for resolving trade disputes, which has been part of the recent debates at the CEFTA table.
Following the meeting, were presented the pillars, objectives and measures taken in the framework of the Regional Economic Zone of the 6 Western Balkan countries, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia (WB6). As an important part of this area was highlighted the Multi Annual Action Plan - PDV (2017-2020).
